How to choose right for a body shape like mine

If you have an hourglass figure, the most flattering clothes for your body shape will enhance your shape. i.e. Choose clothes with a fitted waist.

As my top frame is smaller than the bottom frame, this jumpsuit complements my body as it billows out at the top. However, I didn't end up buying this as jumpsuits aren't really my thing.

Nice bright fuschia colour!

After a very very very VERY long time...

I realise I never wrote anything in this blog!! I'm actually sorting through pictures right now in my "iphoto" album but alas, it is so
hard to find an outfit i APPROVE of since i've started from about 5 years ago!! i'll probably put in some fashion feux pas as well just for the laughs!!

Here I am, about a year ago, unknowingly posing for this photo! I was very in love with this embellished skirt but only wore this top for a few times as I was told it looked like my pyjamas. Since then, i have realised tights and a skirt is not a good look!!

My Body Shape

All the experience I've had in fashion is simply shopping for my own clothes. Trust me, It's a hard task! I thought that you should know more about my body shape so you could know what I'm basing this knowledge on instead of pretending I'm oh-so-fabulous at choosing clothes for everyone! I'm not. I can choose clothes quite well for my body shape or people similar to my body shape, BUT I don't think I'm quite as adept as choosing for people with quite different body shapes. Hence, I will begin my blog with posts on clothes suiting body shapes like mine! and then hopefully, acquire the skills to be able to advise everyone in the future!

Brutal Facts:
  • 160cm (quite short really)
  • small frame on top half of body
  • small waist
  • brasize 8DD (however, I do believe they're shrinking as I'm not eating as much due to my new braces)
  • larger bottom half
  • large bottom
  • short legs (bit chubby/stocky)
  • face shape: squarish round? (it's changing a bit due to my braces as well)
  • straight dark brown hair up to my clavicle
  • brown eyes
  • size 7.5 shoes
  • size 6/8 clothing (AUS)
It's always hard to find myself clothes as I'm in the niche of body shapes. Hopefully, a lot of you out there will find this helpful, and please enjoy the next post as I will be posting up the first fashion blog!! :)

Oxymorons

It's always hard to write the first post of a blog and this one is no exception. Well, I'll be honest here, the reason I made this blog was initially just because I liked the name! I was just looking at myself in the mirror one day, and I thought "God, I look ugly". I've always prided myself on the fact that I could be rather decent looking if given the right tools! BUT take all those away from me and what would I have? I believe that beauty projects outwardly in your actions but also that your confidence in how you wear your clothes and what you wear for your body shape portrays beauty. And so, this blog will be dedicated to beauty both in and out, to prove that anyone can be beautiful, but still have their ugly moments!
